I do not think you are going through the right place for this type of question. I suggest you contact the restaurant directly.
I'm experiencing too many emotions while eating there. The broccoli and Cheetos, homard and bacon, etc. One of the good restaurant I'll be going back again.
Had a great meal and wonderful service. Lucky enough to get a last minute reservation on a Saturday (I recommend reservations), but was well worth the wait. The waiter also recommended a great "funky" bottle of wine, and our co-diners were lovely.
Very busy restaurant, reservation recommended. We got a spot at the bar without reservation. Shared the calamari and a gnocchi with fish and meat sauce with a aquatinted... the food was delicious, but the calamari cold. He complained twice and got us a discount, but also totally embarrassed us. The gnocchi dish was absolutely amazing : ) cocktails were nice as well. Can certainly recommend this place. Cheers to the restaurant for putting up with us, i didn’t speak and fresh so i could not intervene with the complaints
I had been waiting to try this restaurant for awhile, so when the opportunity came up, I was really excited. When we arrived, the service was good but the experience kind of went down hill form there. Our drinks were okay but my partner and I got our entrées at different times which delayed the whole meal. After an hour of waiting for our meal, the waiter came to see us and said our order was being plated and it would take no more than 2 mins. 30 mins later, we could tell he was avoiding our table. We ended up just paying for what we had received and left before our main dishes were ready. The staff was apologetic but personally I believe that the restaurant is clearly not worth the hype.
Everything was delicious from the “cocktail du jour” which was a whisky-based drink that evening, to the “huitres” (oysters) from PEI, and the beautifully presented “plats principales”. We had the “linguini aux moules et aux crevettes” (seafood linguini) and the “Lotte rotie au four” (monkfish). The team of waiters was very attentive and pleasant. We enjoyed the ambiance on the tree-centered terrace during a warm summer evening. Being bilingual we were served in French but I heard one of the waiters pleasantly serving another table in English without issue. There’s delicious beer on tap from a local “microbrasserie” and wine by the bottle or the glass. If you’re looking for a table indoors be sure to book ahead. This is a great restaurant to eat dinner at or just to have a few drinks with your partner or a few friends.
I went there with my friend to celebrate an anniversary and just had the best experience. The server (Anick) was superb: we let her pick our dishes and pair our wines. We were not disappointed. Everything was excellent: dumplings, tuna on black pudding, foie gras mousse, raviolis. You can pick with your eyes closed, everything on the menu is delicious, with lots of Canadian and local products!
Had a fun night with the girls! The food is yummy and great drink options plus wine. Definitely choose sitting on the terrace. Great view!
Fresh fish, tasty dishes that are unique combos. Good ambiance and decor. Friendly service
Hidden gem, one of the best seafood restaurants in Quebec City, loved the salmon dish
Amazing experience, from start to finish., I could not recommend this restaurant enough. The servers were friendly and well informed on the offerings, drinks were refreshing, atmosphere is hard to beat in any city, and the cuisine was ebullient.
Albacore was outstanding! We had four of the appetizers to maximize the number of dishes we could try. Albacore's dishes were all beautifully balanced, none too salty or too sweet. They served PEI oysters which were amongst the best I have ever had. They served a beef ramen dish which was phenomenal. The broth was perfect, it wasn't the typical salty broth that ramen restaurants serve; it tended to the sweeter end of the spectrum. The decor and vibe of the restaurant was very relaxed and cool. Tables were spaced well for covid friendliness. I would highly recommend this restaurant, it has been my favourite restaurant of 2020 so far!
Always welcoming, they remember us, they always offer little extra liquor on the side to make us discover new things. The food is simply amazing and the taste is there. Congrats, fair price for the quality of the food. I love going there and bring friends there. Keep up the good work guys !!
The scallops and chicken-lobster jambalaya were flavourful and our appetizers including the fish dumplings were interesting. Not sure it’s deserving of this high an average rating, but certainly worth 4/5.
Omg so freaking good. Do yourself a favour. Come here. Staff are amazing. Food is exquisite. 5+ stars. Soooo freaking good.
Very good seafood but the menu was limited, the cocktails ok. They were able to accommodate my vegetarian friend as there was only one option she wasn’t interested in.
This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel staff. It is outside the walled old city, but not far. We both ordered seared salmon on a bed of mashed peas sprinkled with clams. It was terrific. We told our waiter he looked like a young Kevin Klein. He acted like him, too. He laughed and said Americans always tell him that, but not Canadians. Canadians don't seem to know who Kevin Klein is. Their specialty is seafood and if the other dishes are as good as our salmon was, you probably can't go wrong.
Great little seafood spot. Had the fish dumplings (great starter) then the cod main. Food was well cooked, seasoned, presented. Nice decor. Pretty small spot though so make a reservation or try your luck without one.
Varied menu, high quality fish products, curteous waiter who spoke English. With all our food options in Quebec, I rarely go somewhere twice, but I would return here.
dont get yourself fooled with the hype of this restaurant's review. you will spend at least 20-30 min. for parking. then you will wait at least an hour for your food in this restaurant. service is very slow and not attentive. food is below average. sword fish steak was in the bowl. how to cut it and eat? not worth your time and money. there are plenty more and better around. just avoid this restaurant.
An interesting restaurant, and a very good choice when craving fish and seafood. Their fish is fresh and delicious, with a variety of tartare and oysters. There is always one or two 'non fish' options. The menu is short and changes regularly, the plates are interesting, with texture and little known ingredients. The wine menu is extensive and varied, and the staff knowledgable and can help you navigate all the options. The place is bright, painted white with large windows, particularly inviting on a nice summer evening.
Amazing food and fantastic presentation!
Absolutely delicious! So nice to have non alcoholic options for drinks. Everything we ordered was amazing, well thought out and perfectly balanced plates.
Best meal we had in Quebec! Cod with curry was incredible and the Octopus with pasta was as good as the Octopus in Italy!
Bar none the best seafood place I've experienced in a long time. The atmosphere, the prices, the service and most importantly the food, was exceptional. Go and enjoy what an experience at an upscale seafood restaurant should be. Oh, and it's outside the tourist area but where all the seasoned travelers go ;)
Great atmosphere, service and food. Our server Vincent was excellent and made it a wonderful experience. Definitely would recommend.
Didnt know this place was even here, now I know and I will return as often as possible. Fun vibe and artistically created dishes.
I’m a local & it’s one of my favourites in the city. I recommend it to all my clients, not far if you are staying in the city walls. A great selection of drinks to accompany the food & the staff are very friendly & informative. Another great restaurant from the guys at ‘Le restaurant pirate’. ‘Le Chaudron’ with bacon is a must! Good work guys
This is the BEST place we have been to for seafood, EVER! Great food, oysters were to die for, cassoulet yummy, marlin was done to a turn. Great and knowledgeable waitstaff. Go whenever you can.
Friendly staff. Their menu has original and creative dishes and it changes frequently. If you are not into seafood, various options with meat or vegetarian options are also offered. The food is beautifully presented and it was good. The only reason I’m giving 3 starts is because even with all the windows and the door wide open the inside was super hot, we were sweating all the time (imagine the staff in the kitchen!). If you visit on summer, I recommend asking for a table on the terrace. In a cooler season I guess it should be OK to eat inside.
What a great night. Delicious food and wonderful people. Hope to to visit again soon.
Excellent dining choice in the heart of Québec city. Fresh, tasty food. Everything we ate was beautifully presented with bold flavours and generous portions. On that note, it is nice to visit a restaurant that doesn’t leave you hungry after an appetizer and main course! Definitely not the case here, lots of food, and easy to share. Nice patio of the weather is cooperative, with views of the city surroundings. Easy to recommend. There are vegetarian options and a small selection of wine by the glass.
Great spot! If you’re in Quebec, this is a restaurant you need to visit. Great staff and the food is excellent.
Had a great time here. Food was all very good, view of the mountains from the patio is nice but it is also close to a busy road.
Great seafood restaurant. the portions are really good. They are having a nice ambience. downside is the parking took me a while to find a place and the service was a little bit slow but still worth to try this restaurant.
So happy we got to dine at Albacore during our visit to Quebec City. Everything was great, the drinks, the service the food. Loved sitting by the kitchen and seeing the dishes come out. If you are a fish/seafood lover this place is definitely for you. Can’t wait to come back.
I can not be more pleased with the service or quality of food while dining at Albacore. All of the ingredients, seafood and vegetables, were fresh and flavorful. Other tables were reserved but we were seated quickly at the bar. The picture is of the cod fish with a mushroom sauce - an excellent dish. All of the wait staff were friendly and welcoming and I will be sure to recommend Albacore to our airbnb host so that others will enjoy as well!
Love the Bacon dish
This place is top notch. Amazing atmosphere, amazing food. Only downside is we weren't able to make it there until the last night of our trip to Quebec City otherwise would have been there the next night to try the other items on the menu.
Very great staff !
We enjoyed this restaurant tremendously. The menu was very original without being silly. The food quality and preparation were absolutely first rate. The waiter did not try to guide us to the most expensive items. The atmosphere was interesting. On the one hand, it has a pleasant charm while, on the other, it fronts onto a main street. We sat on the patio but did not find the traffic noise annoying; things become relatively calm in that area in the evening. But this location has the great benefit of being off the pub choked, tourist trampled Rue Saint-Jean.
Very talented guys who work here and they go above and beyond to make you comfortable and put a piece of art on the table. Great non alcoholic apple cider too!
We had a splendid evening. The food was some of the best we’ve had in our lives: ray with crab cake preceded by smoked mackerel. The wine selection was well informed and well curated, the service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. It is well worth the price, truly one of the best restaurants in Eastern North America. For those who are worried about parking, you can park at the conference centre just up the hill.
Wonderful old Quebec area. Great views and great food!
Was impressed with the quality and flavour of each dish. Made with much dedication and love.Really appreciated and enjoyed the creativity, texture, flavour of each dish with super crunchy vegetables on the bottom of a few of the dishes.Ambience was nice and casual with cute friendly staff. Will go back again!
Excellent food, wine, and service! Earned every star with ease.
Background: 4 English and 2 from Channel Islands. All six of us agreed that this is the best seafood we have all ever had. The food was exceptional. The service was absolute quality. Price is up, but it is 100% worth every dollar.
Our evening at Restaurant Albacore was truly amazing. While the food was original, cooked to perfection it was our waitress that made the night truly special. A level of genuine joy and love for her work and the food, she treated us like family, or royalty, or just folks she was tickled to have eat in the restaurant. She gave us great advice on food choices and wine pairings.
Excellent service. Great food. Keep some room for desert.
Ridiculous. So good. We ordered 2 apps and 2 mains and every single bite was unreal. Amazing service. Can't say enough good things. If you come to.Québec you MUST visit this place. You're welcome.
The food portions are generous and the fish was prepared to perfection. Food service was a little slow (we arrived around 8pm), but we started with an appetizer and were well seated outside. Note that there is no a/c (summer 2019), so you might was to sit outside where there is a breeze.Highly recommend!
